He is now a member of the Advisory Group appointed by the President of the European Commission and contributed to the debate on "Dialogue between Peoples and Cultures in the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership".
He is also the founder / director of the International Conference A Soul for Globalization - since 2001 - in parallel with the Fes Festival of World Sacred Music, founded in 1994 and which he is also behind. Dr. Skali has taken the Festival a step further by coordinating a colloquium to follow the festival called Giving Soul to Globalization, a meeting place for humanitarians and international leaders in the business world to work together to develop more space for spirituality in the working world and is becoming a sort of counterpoint to the global economic and social forums. In 2007, he founded at the Fez Festival of Sufi Culture which is held each year.
